This lovely listed Georgian farmhouse lies adjacent to the Lynher Estuary and a Special Area of Great Landscape Value. It is situated in one of the most peaceful and beautiful valleys in south east Cornwall and has 40 acres of pasture, streams and woodland with outstanding views across undulating countryside. There is an old mill leat that runs through woodland in the valley and in springtime this is a profusion of colour with snowdrops, primroses, wild daffodils, bluebells, foxgloves and campion.
Informality is the keynote of holidays at Lantallack and the main aim is to ensure that guests feel at home and enjoy their stay. The bedrooms are comfortable with antique furniture, pretty cushions and lovely views. Breakfast is delicious with fresh fruit salad, organic yoghurt, local smoked bacon and sausages, muesli, our own free-range eggs and a selection of warm breads and croissants fresh from the Aga.
There is a delightful sitting room in which to relax with TV, hi-fi, a good collection of books and a blazing log fire on cold days. For those who like music there are two grand pianos to play. From May – September, guests can enjoy the use of a large outdoor heated swimming pool, with barbecue facilities and glorious views over the valley.
Lantallack is 20 minutes from Plymouth, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. Whitsand Bay and the tiny fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand are only a few miles away. There are many lovely coastal walks and National Trust properties nearby, including Cotehele and Lanhydrock. Eden is 35 minutes away.
